The ultimate artist marketing plan is inside you

What makes your creative business different from all the others? You.  After all, your art is a culmination of your feelings, ideas, thoughts and experiences. There’s no one who can make things the way you do. In fact, they can’t come close to being as amazing as you are.

What does this have to do with art marketing and branding?

As humans, we’re hard-wired to seek and connect with others like us. Your branding helps your *you-ness* shine. It’s a beacon that says, “Hey you there! You belong with me.” It shows others how to find, and fall for you. Best of all, it gives you a way to be unadulteratedly loud, energetic, geeky, introspective, and *human*. It adds depth to your logo. It helps people understand why you work and create the way you do.

This makes learning how to build your creative brand the ultimate artist marketing plan. I’ll teach you how to tap into what’s inside you already, and share it.

Artists and organisations need to stay relevant, responsive and real.

And to do that, your branding needs to have clarity around how it’ll respond to the world, and what that response will look like.

People want to engage with artists who have:

  • a clear purpose
  • a point of view
  • solid values and,
  • value for others.

A satisfied buyer means more than dollars and smiles. Happy collectors return for more, and tell their friends and family.

marketing yourself as an arts organisation

Let’s build your art marketing plan together.

I work with artists and arts organisations to build strong creative brands that create value for you, your customers, and the world we live in. Together, we’ll find your brand purpose and bring it to life at the heart of your brand strategy. We’ll turn art-cynics into believers.

  • You’ve might have had a lot of success building a community for your business in person, but 2020 has taught you the need to be strategic and make the most of your online promotion.
  • You want clarity, on direction, strategy and a path forward to highlight who you are, what you stand for and why people should join you.
  • Which means it needs to be clear and appealing to the right people, and this comes from understanding who your audience is in detail (what stage of the buying cycle they’re in, and their beliefs, desires and fears).
  • You’re wanting to avoid the overwhelm and understand your next actions you should take to draw people into your business. And this means knowing how and where you show up online, to make the biggest impact.

By the time we’re done, you’ll have a strong, consistent message backed by a solid artist marketing strategy. And you’ll know how to implement it all yourself!

You get my undivided attention during our one-on-one branding strategy sessions. That means I only work with one artist at a time, and best of all, I tailor my approach to you. Ready to nail your branding?

How it works

You complete my Questionnaire, so I can get to know you, and your work, inside out.

The project starts with a research phase where I gather as much info about you and your business as I can, to put together some concepts and ideas to discuss in our one-on-one call.

Then we come together for our one-on-one session over a recorded Zoom call. This usually runs for 90-120 minutes where we go through each piece of your brand, your audience and marketing tools one at a time.

After this I’ll draw up a full Brand Report, Style Guide and Content Audit and enough info to build your brand, implement a marketing strategy and start attracting the right clients.

What's included

We’ll do an audit of the four core parts of your brand.

Who your brand is: you, your journey, your values, personality and vision. We’ll identify your point of difference and what that means for how you position yourself in the market.

Who your customers are: Their beliefs, desires, fears and purchase journey.

Your online assets: website, blog, socials, email list, opt-ins, videos, etc. What you have, how you’re using it and how you can improve.

Your strategy: Your goals, your funnel and the next actions you need to take on socials, creating opt-ins, videos – the works.

Optional upgrade: I can also develop a Language Style Guide including examples of the copy you’d use in different situations (on your website, in the course, in an email or newsletter and even in your micro copy).

As part of this, I’ll identify and share any problem areas that I see within the architecture of your site (the flow and structure of the content on each page).
